When someone is passively dependent though the relationships they have seem intense they are in truth shallow; for it does not matter upon whom they are dependent as long as there is someone on whom to be dependent nor does it matter from whom they glean their identity as long as someone is available to give them an identity. There is an intense strength to the inner emptiness these individuals feel and they grasp desperately to fill that emptiness with dependence on others as their source.
